Liverpool's Roberto Firmino Named Game Ambassador For UFL, The New Rival For FIFA And eFootball (Formerly PES)

Roberto Firmino from Liverpool has been named as the second ambassador for the UFL Football Game which will rival the Electronic Arts FIFA series and Konami's eFootball (replacement for PES).

The new game, Ultimate Football League (UFL), is being advertised as 'free to play' and being developed by Strikerz Inc. The release date at this point is unknown but it is expected to be released on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

The official trailer for the game was released at gamescom in August 2021.

Gameplay

In terms of what gamers can expect from the new game, Strikerz CEO Eugene Nashilov gave some insight to IGN who describe the new game as a 'hybrid of FIFA and Football Manager, putting as much emphasis on what happens off the pitch as on it'

Nashilov added a bit more detail around what to expect.

“You will manage your club, form a roster, develop tactics and compete with other gamers in seasons to prove your skills and climb to the very top of the league. Competitive, fair gaming is at the very core of UFL’s gameplay. In this competition, your victory depends solely on your gaming skills and the choices you make.”

The UFL twitter account announced the signing of the Reds star using the words of his famous Liverpool terrace chant as part of his introduction.

"There’s something that #UFL want you to know, our next ambassador his name is Bobby Firmino! "

This is big news for the UFL to have signed up first Zinchenko and then global superstar Firmino.

They also recently announced a partnership with West Ham United which will mean the club kit and official club crest will be available as in game items.

The early signs in respect of the UFL game look promising with strong graphics, a free-to-play mantra and an interesting method of gameplay.

It is clear that years of effort have gone into this product and signing up the likes of Firmino is only going to enhance what looks a very interesting proposition.
