After the shock departure of Antonio Conte due to a conflict with the clubs owners, Inter Milan will go ahead with plans to offload up to 80 million euros worth of players in order to recoup losses due to the Coronavirus pandemic. One player that could depart the Italian giants this season is Nicolo Barella.

The Italy international has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. According to Anfield Central, Liverpool and Arsenal are strongly linked with the 24 year-old.

All three teams could be in the market for a central midfielder this summer. Georginio Wijnaldum recently departed the Reds and fans will be wondering if Liverpool plan to replace the Dutchman.

Barella has made 87 appearances for Inter and was involved in their recent Scudetto success. The Italian giants won their first league title in eleven years, ending Juventus dominent run in the Serie A.

He was also named the best midfielder in the Serie A for the 2020/21 season. The 24 year-old is an impressive box-to-box midfielder who can score and create goals as well as winning back possession and doing defensive duties.

He has received praise from legends such as Andrea Pirlo and also been compared to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. Barella fits the bill in regards to what Jurgen Klopp loves in a player and would be the ideal replacement for Wijnaldum.

Nicolo Barella Inter Milan Liverpool target Jurgen Klopp

Nicolo Barella is being targeted by Liverpool this summer.

There is no indication that Nicolo Barella is unhappy at Inter and it would not be surprising if he remained in Italy for another season. Inter could hit their financial target from an individual sale such as Romelu Lukaku, who is strongly linked with a return to Chelsea meaning the club would see no need to want to offload Barella.

Despite rumours of Liverpool and Arsenal making several additions to their squad, Barella's value of 58 million could turn both clubs away from pursuing a deal. Clubs around Europe will still be feeling the financial impacts of Covid-19 and will be reluctant to meet the big valuations clubs like Inter may request for their players' signatures.
