Sadio Mane: "I am more proud than ever to be a Liverpool player"

Sadio Mane has revealed that he is happier than ever to be a Liverpool player.

On the back of winning the 2019-2020 Premier League PFA Fans' Player of the Year, Sadio Mane is having a bit of a down year for the high standards that he has set with his performances.

Not only has he had a down season, the squad as a whole has had a down season. When talking to the Liverpool Echo about the season Sadio Mane said, "We have to deal with the situation and not stop believing, but keep fighting, keep our motivation and go again."

"Being together with my teammates always gives me high energy. You can see the quality of the team."

"If you came to the dressing room you would have no other option than to see your future like it is going to be bright."

Although 18 goal contributions across all competitions may seem impressive, for a player of Sadio Mane's calibre, it is below his usual goal output.

Mane has played in 37 total matches this season and is averaging a goal or assist every 161 minutes in comparison to a goal or assist every 116 minutes last season.

Although Liverpool currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, Sadio Mane is not worried.

"With this squad and this team there is the attitude and belief that everything will change."
