Steven Gerrard has cemented his place in Rangers history today after guiding his team to an unbeaten season. Rangers ended the season with an emphatic 4-0 win over Aberdeen to confirm their title as the 'The Invincibles'.
Rangers have an incredible record this season, they've played 38 games, won 32, drew six and lost none. Gerrard's side ended on an astonishing 102 points, one point behind the current record points total in the SPFL.
Steven Gerrard: Manager of the Season
The Liverpool legend also won the Manager of the Season award with his goalkeeper Allan McGregor winning the Player of the Season.
This is an incredible achievement by Gerrard, going unbeaten has been done three previous times in Scottish top flight football but two of those times, the seasons were only 18 games long. The most recent holder of the title 'The Invincibles', was held by a former manager of Gerrard, Brendan Rodgers, who achieved it in his first season with Celtic in the 2016-17 season.
This is also the first time Rangers have won the SPFL since the 2010-11 season. Gerrard has disrupted a very dominant Celtic side who had previously won the last nine SPFL titles.
Hopefully Steven Gerrard will be able to build on these incredible achievements he has managed with Rangers. The Rangers fans love Gerrard just as much as us Liverpool fans and they have made it known that he will go down in their history books.
We might see Gerrard lifting a league title with Liverpool as the manager one day, which a lot of Liverpool fans would love to see. But for now it's been a joy to watch Stevie lifting titles once again.
