Zinedine Zidane Reacts To Drawing Liverpool in Champions League

Liverpool have drawn Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter finals. How did Zinedine Zidane react?

After defeating Red Bull Leipzig in the Champions League Round of 16, Liverpool have advanced to the quarter finals of the prestigious competition. 

Upon advancing, Liverpool drew Real Madrid as their opponent. The two sides are no stranger to one another as they faced off in the 2018 Champions League final. 

Real Madrid's manager, Zinedine Zidane, reacted to his side drawing Liverpool in the knockout stages. 

When asked if he thought that Liverpool were a good draw he responded, "Is not a good draw or a bad draw."

"It doesn’t matter if they are in bad form in their league, because people can say the same about us that ‘we are at the bottom of the abyss' and what not but look at us we are still here in the Champions League no?"

Currently, Real Madrid sit in third place in La Liga behind league leaders Atletico Madrid and bitter rivals Barcelona. 

"It is going to be a great match between two sides that have many Champions League trophies between them." 

The French international believes that the match between the two European giants will be great to watch. 

"Liverpool are strong in this competition, we know that, just like us we stick our head out [In European competitions], is going to be a great match."

In the first leg of the Champions League quarter finals, Liverpool are the away team and will travel to face Real Madrid on 6 April. Unfortunately for Liverpool, this is just two days after a pivotal Premier League fixture against Arsenal.
