Taiwo Awoniyi set to for summer Anfield exit

Liverpool loanee Taiwo Awoniyi is set to leave the club on a permanent transfer this summer.

After a season that has failed to yield any silverware, it is reported that Liverpool could be set for a summer clear out. Many players will leave the clubs and be replaced with fresh faces after an injury ridden season.

One of those players who looks set to leave Liverpool FC this summer is Taiwo Awoniyi. Awoniyi is currently on loan with Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin. The striker joined Liverpool in 2015 but has yet to make an appearance for the Merseyside club.

Awoniyi has been loaned out a whopping seven times since joining the Reds from Imperial Soccer Academy.

This season, the 23 year-old striker has scored five goals for Union Berlin who find themselves in an impressive 8th place in the Bundesliga table. Bundesliga expert Daniel Pinder talked to This is Futbol and discussed Taiwo Awoniyi's Liverpool future.

Daniel Pinder, who is editor-in-chief at Get German Football News, says that he does not see any possibility that Taiwo Awoniyi makes his way into Jurgen Klopp's side.

“I’d like to say yes [he will get a chance] but I think at 23, I’m not sure he’d get a run at Liverpool now.”

The young Nigerian striker has featured 20 times for Union Berlin across all competitions, with 19 of those appearances coming in the Bundesliga. Awoniyi has managed to score five goals and added an additional four assists for the Bundesliga side.
