Ex Liverpool Player Dietmar Hamann Urges Karim Adeyemi To Join Borussia Dortmund

Retired ex Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann has urged RB Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi to sign for Borussia Dortmund.

Hamann believes in terms of the player’s development he should look to follow a similar path to the likes of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

Karim Adeyemi

Speaking with Sky Deutschland, Hamann gave his reasons as to why the 19 year old should think about Dortmund rather than Munich.

"Football at Dortmund suits him better.“

“He could sit on the bench behind Robert Lewandowski at Bayern."

“But if he continues to score, Adeyemi won’t play for two or three years."

“Only a few clubs can claim to have developed players like that (Dortmund)."

“If Haaland were to leave, Borussia Dortmund would not be the worst destination for Adeyemi."

“I don’t know whether he would be given the time he needs at Bayern.“

LFCTR Verdict

The advice of Hamann would appear to be sound based on the track record that Dortmund have developing the likes of Haaland, Sancho and Ousmane Dembele.

It would also appear from what he has said that it seems that Germany is the likely destination for the striker.

This will come as a blow to Liverpool fans who were hoping to add the exciting youngster to their attacking options.

Let's not forget however that the powers that be at Anfield do hold a good relationship with the Austrian club so not all hope is lost.
