With the likely departure of Georginio Wijnaldum this summer and a lack of goals from both Liverpool’s midfielders and forwards, it could be time for Liverpool to consider adding more goal contribution depth to the middle of the park. One such player who has recently expressed interest in a move to Anfield is German midfielder Florian Neuhaus.
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder who is valued at 35 million pounds has made 30 appearances this season scoring five making five assists also. Neuhaus has also been capped five times for Germany scoring once.
The Bavarian midfielder has gone from strength to strength and looks to be a special player going forward. Unsurprisingly, like many other talented young German players, Neuhaus has attracted the attention of Bayern Munich. However, the Bundesliga champions look unwilling to meet his price tag.
As well as a hefty price tag for the 24 year-old, Bayern have been turned away by the players' reported interest in a move to Anfield to play under Jurgen Klopp. This is according to well known German journalist Christian Falk. Falk claims that the midfielder wants to play “Under the guidance” of fellow German Klopp.
Liverpool are not short of midfield men even if Georginio Wijnaldum is to depart, but a lack of creativity and goals from the middle of the park is something the Reds cannot afford to let continue given the strength of squads from teams surrounding them. A quality midfield regularly contributing to goals has been a huge reason as to why Manchester City have been successful under Pep Guardiola.
Despite fantastic shows of class in periods from new signing Thiago Alcantara, the Spaniard is not producing the number of assists or other goal contributions fans might have expected of him.
With a busy summer expected for the Reds, it may be the perfect time to capitalise on signing players interested in coming to Anfield like Florian Neuhaus who are eager to play under Jurgen Klopp.
