Liverpool Interest

The player who impressed and was named Player of the Tournament at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations was linked with Liverpool earlier this year and at one point the Reds thought they had won the race for his signature.

Liverpool's original interest was reported by Goal when the player was said to be close to making a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

At the time Goal said that the Reds and Borussia Dortmund were making a late move for the player to try and stall that deal.

It now would seem however that the player will start the next chapter of his career in Portugal but we still await official confirmation of this news from Sporting or his current club Steadfast FC.
