Rumours of Ibrahima Konate joining Liverpool were everywhere just last week. Although things have cooled off a little bit, the rumours of him joining Liverpool have not gone away.
Now, reports claim that while Ibrahmia Konate and Ozan Kabak are Jugen Klopp's preferred targets, the club are still seriously looking at other options. Transfer Insider Dean Jones has said that there are at least two other central defenders that the Merseyside club are closely looking at.
"Sources say at least two other central defenders other than Ibrahima Konate are also being looked at by Liverpool too, and could emerge as serious targets in the coming weeks."
He went on to say that both the Red Bull Leipzig man and the on-loan Kabak are Jurgen Klopp's preferred targets.
"In an ideal world Jurgen Klopp would love to see Liverpool sign both Konate and Kabak for a combined fee of over £50m, but it is very unlikely."
While some Liverpool supporters were worried about Konate's injury record, Raphael Honigstein put an end to those fears.
"In reality, he’s suffered one serious injury: to his hip flexor muscle. It needed surgery in France last summer after a recurrence and is the main reason his game time has been limited, and the hype turned down a lot."
