According to reports, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have shown an interest in Italy and Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella 'Several Times'.
After Gini Wijnaldum left on a free transfer to go to PSG in the summer, it was expected that Liverpool would bring in a replacement.
Success With Club And Country
Barella who is a complete box-to-box midfielder appeared to be high on the list of possible replacements for the Dutchman but no deal ever took place.
Under Antonio Conte, Barella was a member of the successful Inter team that won Serie A last season by 12 points.
The 24 year old midfielder also enjoyed an impressive 2020 UEFA European Championships helping Italy to the trophy after beating England in the final on penalties.
Liverpool And PSG Interest
The publication also states that despite the interest of the English and French clubs, Inter will not be inserting a release clause in any contract renewal.
Barella's current contract expires in 2024 so there is no immediate for the Italian club to act.
This is another player that Liverpool should definitely be interested in. He has shown with his performances for club and country that he can perform at the highest level.
There is no doubt he would be a brilliant replacement for Wijnaldum and probably bring more to the team but as it stands the likely end result is a new deal for the player at Inter.
