Liverpool join Manchester City & Arsenal in race to sign Patson Daka

Liverpool have joined the Premier League trio of Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal in the race for Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring the situation surrounding Patson Daka's future, according to reports.

The Reds have been linked with the services of the forward in recent moves with the forward flirting with a move to Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled in their title defence this season following the injuries to key central defenders, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, adding to this has been the misfiring front three.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have come under scrutiny recently for their misfiring spells in front of goal, as a result, the Zambian has been tipped with a switch to Merseyside.

So far this season, he has 20 goals in 18 Austrian Bundesliga matches for Red Bull Salzburg.

His rich vein in front of goal has put top clubs across Europe on alert, with Premier League clubs among those.

Salzburger Nachrichten have reported that Liverpool, as well as City, United and the Gunners, are among those vying for his signature.

With three years remaining on his contact in the Eastern Alps, he is currently valued at €20million (£18million) according to TransferMarkt. 

National team head coach Milutin Sredejovic has likened him to African football and Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o.

"I would say he's on the road to replace what Samuel Eto'o once was in representing Africa and African football."  He said.
