Liverpool are still on the hunt for a midfielder to replace Gini Wijnaldum this summer and some fans are starting to think we won't even sign one despite all the reports.
The Reds have been linked with a number of midfielders but the most solid links have been Saul Niguez of Atletico Madrid, Renato Sanches of Lille and Florian Neuhaus of Borussia Monchengladbach.
However, it seems like Neuhaus will definitely not be happening this summer due to him staying at Gladbach for another season.
One name that hasn't been linked with a move to Anfield that much is Manuel Locatelli.
The Italian had an amazing EUROs with Italy and was a big part of helping them win the whole competition.
His current club Sassuolo have confirmed that they are in talks with Juventus and Arsenal about a possible transfer but no agreement has been reached with any club.
The CEO also confirmed that another 'unnamed' English club was having discussions with the Italian outfit. However, no name was mentioned, leaving everyone to assume who the new club is.
Some reports from Italy came out and said that Liverpool were the 'unnamed club' that their CEO was talking about.
Despite these reports, the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has said otherwise.
In a tweet he confirmed that Juventus are still in the lead and that "Liverpool are NOT in the race."
A disappointing outcome for Liverpool but who knows, Michael Edwards could come out of nowhere and steal him from Juventus and Arsenal. That would excite a lot of fans.
