Lille's Renato Sanches has been one of the many players linked with a move to Anfield this summer to replace Gini Wijnaldum.
Other names such as Saul Niguez, Florian Neuhaus and Youri Tielemans have been tipped as replacements for the ever-present Dutchman.
Despite all these links, Liverpool have only managed to bring in one signing this window and that was Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.
Fans were hoping for a lot more this summer after multiple reliable journalists had said we were getting an attacker and a midfielder.
The window is not closed yet but it's nearing the end and Liverpool are still yet to be solidly linked with anyone.
One of them is the previously mentioned Renato Sanches.
Earlier in the window, sources close to Lille had said that Liverpool made a bid for Sanches but he was going to decide after the EUROs.
It is now after the EUROs and we still haven't heard anything about this supposed bid Liverpool made.
In recent weeks, Lille are said to have put the Portuguese midfielder on the transfermarket as they are trying to recoup money lost from the Pandemic.
According to LEquipe via SportsWitness, Lille want £30million for Renato Sanches.
Liverpool are one of four top sides wanting to bring him in and the French side are open to selling him in order to aid their financial situation.
It seems like this transfer is definitely on the cards but it's all dependent on if Liverpool see him as a suitable replacement and if Renato is happy playing backup for a while.
