Along with a centre-back one position that was highlighted by everyone that Liverpool needed to buy last summer was another attacker, ideally a wide player.
There was a lot of names linked with the move too. From Jarrod Bowen to Federico Chiesa, it seemed like if you was a winger then you would be linked with a move to Anfield.
Jarrod Bowen seemed the closest if you were to believe UK journalists but according to international reporters, Liverpool had their eye on others too.
Despite all the interest, Liverpool didn't end up signing an attacker in the summer that just passed, something that angered fans a lot.
It also fueled the FSGout brigade even more and they probably got some more supporters due to Liverpool's lack of business.
However, if reports coming out from the Netherlands are to be believed then Michael Edwards and his team are still on the hunt.
Voetbal International, who are very reliable when it comes to players from the Netherlands, are claiming that Liverpool are showing serious interest in Villarreal's Arnaut Danjuma.
The report says that Liverpool see him as a potential successor to Sadio Mane whose contract expires in 2023.
They also go on to say that Jurgen Klopp was interested in him last summer too but Villarreal beat the Reds to the transfer.
Danjuma, previously of Bournemouth, had a quick spell in the Premier League but it was a bit part due to Bournemouth getting relegated.
However, when the Cherries played in the Championship Danjuma was a key player, scoring 15 goals in 33 games and getting seven assists.
Since signing for Villarreal, for a reported fee of £21million, the 24-year-old has impressed, scoring three goals in seven appearances and getting one assist against Manchester United in the Champions League.
Danjuma would suit Liverpool's style, he plays on both wings and can cover up front if needed. It just seems silly not to of signed him last season when if we approach Villarreal now, they're going to want a lot more than the £21million they signed him for.
