Liverpool are just one of several clubs bracing for a busy summer transfer window. The Reds have undergone a tumultuous season where they spiraled out of the Champions League and look as if they may not finish in a top four position in the Premier League. While there are many questions surrounding the Liverpool squad, one thing is for sure and that is Liverpool will be active this window.
Bissouma Requests Brighton Exit
One major target for Jurgen Klopp seems to be Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma. Ahead of a potential summer move, The Times reports that Yves Bissouma has requested to leave Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season. This will certainly bring a smile to the faces of Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards.
Competition from Manchester City and Arsenal
However, Liverpool face strong competition for the Mali international's signature. Arsenal, Manchester City, West Ham and Olympique Marseille are all said to be interested in signing Bissouma this summer.
Bissouma to replace Wijnaldum
Georginio Wijnaldum will play a big part in Liverpool's pursuit of Yves Bissouma this summer. The Dutch midfielder is set to leave Liverpool on a free transfer after months of speculation. However, it is said that Liverpool brass have not completely closed the door on a potential Wijnaldum contract extension.
Wijnaldum, like every season since joining Liverpool, has played an important role for Jurgen Klopp's side. The former Newcastle United man has featured 47 total times for Liverpool and is easily one of the first names on the team sheet for Klopp.
With an exit request made, look for transfer rumours to heat up a lot more between Bissouma and Liverpool.
