Liverpool to battle Juventus for Houssem Aouar's signature

Due to the Georginio Wijnaldum transfer and contract saga, Liverpool have been linked with several possible replacements. Those who have peaked Jurgen Klopp's interst include Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo De Paul, and now Houssem Aouar. 

The French international currently plays in France for Ligue 1 title contenders, Lyon. At just 22 years old, the midfielder has cemented himself as a key component of Lyon's success as they currently sit just three points off first place behind Lille and Paris Saint-Germain. 

Reports claim that after being linked with a summer move for the Frenchman, Liverpool now face strong competition from Juventus.

It claims that Andrea Pirlo's side are lining up a bid in the region of £34 million to bring him to the Turin side.

The young midfielder has featured an impressive 26 times for Lyon across Ligue 1 and Coupe de Franch so far this season. In those appearances, Aouar has scored six goals and added another four assists putting him at a goal contribution every 169 minutes. 

Last season, Houssem Aouar's appearances saw him named in the UEFA Champions League Squad of the Season alongside Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.

Although it is said that Juventus are Liverpool's biggest competition for Aouar's signature, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are both interested. This comes after Arsenal were strongly linked with him in the summer and amidst rumours of Mbappe's summer exit.
