Report: Raphinha's Representative Confirms Liverpool Interest Last Summer In Leeds United's Brazilian

The representative of Raphinha has confirmed that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool were interested in the Brazilian during the summer transfer window.

The Leeds United winger enjoyed a very good first season in the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa and his form did not go unnoticed.

Raphinha from Leeds is a target for Liverpool

Deco On Raphinha's Development

Speaking to Globo, Deco was keen to emphasise the progress that his client has made since joining the Premier League from French club Rennes.

"Raphinha has become an important player in the Premier League, the club knows he has grown and things will happen naturally,"

"He is young and he has many challenges ahead."

Deco on Liverpool Interest

Former Portuguese international Deco also confirmed that Liverpool were one of the teams interested in the 24 year old.

"There are certainly several clubs that like him, and Liverpool do like him, there were approaches, but nothing official"

"Leeds wanted to keep him for another season."

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho also gave an interview earlier where he admitted he expected his international teammate to be joining him at club level.

Raphinha's Good Form

The Leeds United player appears to be going from strength to strength making a terrific start to the new Premier League season scoring three goals in the first seven matches.

His form at club level has now caught the attention of the national team and he was again in dazzling form with two assists for Brazil in the 3-1 win against Venezuela in Caracas.

LFCTR Verdict

It is no surprise that Liverpool hold an interest in Raphinha. He is a player that would suit Klopp's system perfectly and is still young and has room for improvement.

The concern for Liverpool however is the fact that he not only seems to be delivering at club level but is also doing it on the international stage.

If he continues to develop at such a rapid rate, the price tag could rocket further and become an issue for Liverpool and FSG.
