Potential Liverpool signing Ibrahima Konate has reportedly undergone a medical in Paris ahead of a summer move to Anfield, according to reports.
With news that Konate has already passed some medical tests.
Yesterday, The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that the Reds are in 'advanced talks' with the Frenchman.
It is believed that his club, Red Bull Leipzig, will not budge for any lower than his €40million release clause.
The 21-year-old is said to be unhappy with his playing time in East Germany under Julian Nagelsmann.
He failed to feature in the Round of 16 in the Champions League as Liverpool saw off the German side.
Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane netted in both matches as they won 4-0 on aggregate over the two legs.
French news outlet RMC, via Get French Football News, say that he has undergone a medical in the France capital ahead of a summer move to the Premier League champions.
In the report, it has been emphasised by Konate's representatives that there are still offers on the table.
However, it is widely reported, including by The Athletic, that Jurgen Klopp's side are the front runners in the pursuit of the talented defender.
Liverpool were previously tipped to sign his defensive partner and fellow Frenchman Dayot Upamecano, but the 22-year-old opted for a move to Bundesliga and Champions League holders, Bayern Munich.
It is by no means confirmed that Konate will be announced as a Liverpool player, with David Ornstein saying on the Red Agenda podcast: "Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to sign him, it is not a done deal and there is work still to be done."
