Report: Liverpool And Klopp Interest In Real Madrid's German International Toni Kroos

Reports have emerged today suggesting that Liverpool maybe interested in Real Madrid star and Germany international Toni Kroos. It has been reported in the past that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the player.

Since signing from Bayern Munich in 2014, the German has gone on to win every honour there is in the game forming a formidable partnership with Croatian Luka Modric.

Spanish publication El Nacional are claiming that Liverpool are preparing an offer of around €25million for the 31 year old who will see his contract end at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in June 2023.

Liverpool manager Klopp has lavished praise on the midfielder in the past as reported back in April by the Metro.

"He’s been one of the biggest talents in German football for a long, long, long time. He’s been a great player since he was really young."

"He played incredible stuff for Bayern and then made a brave move to Real Madrid and there he has become one of the most successful club footballers in the world and a World Cup winner"

"Obviously it’s been quite a successful career so far! There’s still a lot to come from him as well"

LFCTR Verdict

It's hard to believe that Liverpool will be looking to bring an ageing Toni Kroos to Anfield.

There is no doubting the quality he possesses and the achievements in his career but Klopp and Michael Edwards need to work on bringing down the average age of the Liverpool midfield options.

I would suggest therefore that this is nothing more than just a rumour and don't expect anything to materialise.
