Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has had a stop-start season so far. The 27-year-old has scored once and assisted once in 12 appearances this season, scoring Liverpool's third goal in their recent 0-3 win at Burnley.
Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't really made the impact Jurgen Klopp would've been hoping for since joining from Arsenal in 2017 for £34million. Saying that, he does have some memorable moments that will live on in fans' memories like his screamer against Manchester City in the Champions League.
In a recent report from Football Insider, they claim that West Ham have made initial contact to assess the availability of Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer.
They understand that the East London club are in the market for an attacking midfielder next season. Manchester United loanne Jesse Lingard has lit up the London Stadium since joining in January and the report claims that Lingard is now gaining interest from a lot of clubs around Europe and West Ham are looking for alternatives.
West Ham Interested In £22m Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Liverpool are said to value the 27-year-old at £22million and would be open to selling him at the right price with him falling down the pecking order in recent years.
Even though these reports are coming out, Oxlade-Chamberlain seems happy at Liverpool and he wants to fight for his place in Jurgen Klopp's team.
He said in an interview after scoring against Burnley. "It's always nice to get a goal. It's lifted my spirits - the stuff I want to do, the opportunities haven't come so readily for me. But that's not really too important for me - the important thing is the team."
“I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of this team and play for this football club, and that’s what I absolutely want to do."
Oxlade-Chamberlain still has three years left on his contract and it seems like Jurgen Klopp and himself have a good relationship so it would be surprising if he just left. The Englishman just needs to stay fit because Liverpool lack his explosive energy and goal scoring ability from midfield when he isn't fit.
