Gini Wijnaldum leaving has sent a lot of Liverpool fans into panic mode this summer.

The Reds still haven't signed a replacement for the everpresent Dutchman who barely got injured and was always reliable.

There have been a few names floated around from Lille's Renato Sanches to Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez.

Both of them would be great options but nothing has come from the links, that's not to say they won't in the coming weeks though.

There have also been reports that if Liverpool do sign a midfielder this summer then it won't be from the Premier League.

However, that hasn't stopped Youri Tielemans been touted as one of Liverpool's main targets this summer.

The Reds were said to be a massive fan of the Leicester midfielder but the clubs asking price was reaching £60million onwards.

Despite the interest, very reliable journalists have squashed the rumour saying Liverpool just don't have the funds to meet Leicester's asking price this summer.

According to The Daily Mail though, Liverpool's interest is still ever present and the club see him as the perfect Wijnaldum replacement.

They claim that Liverpool are still trying to acquire his signature and other Premier League clubs are also interested in the 24-year-old.

The report also says that Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Tielemans and were among those hoping to sign him from Anderlecht in 2017. Klopp sees him as the perfect replacement for Wijnaldum as he is a 'controlling midfielder' than can influence the game in a number of ways.

This would be a great signing for Liverpool as Tielemans is Premier League proven, young and has massive room to improve under Jurgen Klopp.

Hopefully this comes to fruition but the price tag that Leicester are quoting may prove to be a stumbling block.
