Liverpool have been linked with a lot of midfielders this summer, from Borussia Monchengladbach's Florian Neuhaus to Leicester's Youri Tielemans, but one names that has constantly been in the discussion is Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

The 24-year-old looks set to leave the Seagulls this season and a lot of clubs have been interested in him but the two clubs who have been reported to be heavily scouting the Mali international are Arsenal and Liverpool.

Bissouma, who played 36 games in the Premier League for Graham Potter's side, has had a breakthrough season and caught the eyes of a lot of people.

With Arsenal looking to strengthen their midfield after a disappointing season where they finished 8th, Bissouma would sure up their midfield and offer some support to their defenders.

Liverpool could really do with a Gini Wijnaldum replacement, especially one who is Premier League proven. Bissouma fits all of that criteria and a lot of fans would love to have him at Anfield.

Yves Bissouma Liverpool Target

Yves Bissouma has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

However, according to football.london, Bissouma has personally asked his agent to make the move to Arsenal happen.

They claim that 'Bissouma has instructed his agent Michael N’Cho that he wants to join the Gunners, but as of today no formal offer or contact has been made with Brighton.'

If this is true then it looks like the 24-year-old has his heart set on a move to North London.

It is disappointing but for him it makes sense, he will get more game time at Arsenal and at Liverpool he would have to fight for his place in the starting 11, but if Arsenal do pull this signing off then it will be a decent signing as he has tons of room to improve and become a great midfielder.
