The Sun’s Martin Blackburn has revealed that Ligue 1 giants PSG are among the clubs keeping tabs on Benjamin Mendy, with the player's future at Manchester City looking 'increasingly uncertain'.

The Frenchman joined Manchester City in the summer of 2017 from AS Monaco with very high expectations, when the Premier League side spent £50 million on the marauding full-back.

Since then however, Mendy has been ailed by a rotating cast of injuries, as well as multiple incidents off the pitch. Although he has returned to near full fitness in recent months, the former Ligue 1 defender has still struggled to break into the team with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Joao Cancelo giving no reason for Pep Guardiola to bring Mendy back into the fold.

As a result, the 26 year-old may now look at a return back to his home country as an opportunity to reignite his career after a tumultuous few seasons at the Etihad Stadium.

In the same report, Blackburn reveals that regardless of what happens with the Frenchman, the Premier League leaders are 'likely' to look at left-backs when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Manchester City have been linked with many left backs around Europe, with Nicolas Tagliafico being the most strongly rumoured. In recent days however, Atalanta's Robin Gosens has also been touted with an interest from Etihad officials.
