A reinvigorated Manchester City travel to Molineux, looking for revenge against the side that beat them at home earlier in the season. Here’s how we predict the Blues will line up...
As usual, Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sané are still recovering from injuries. However, Sergio Aguero came off the bench in the victory over Leicester City, and should be available for this one. David Silva and John Stones are also ruled out through injury.
Ederson is a given to start in goal, but who will play as part of the back four protecting his net? I don’t see any reason for Pep Guardiola to chop and a defence that did well against the Foxes last time out, so Benjamin Mendy, Fernandinho, Nicolas Otamendi and Kyle Walker seem likely to play.
Will Rodri come back into the team after being absent against Leicester City? I think the fact that this is an away game may just get him the nod over Saturday’s goalscorer Ilkay Gundogan. Kevin de Bruyne is indispensable at the moment and Bernardo Silva is the man I hope partners the Belgian. Bernardo’s energy in midfield has been a huge part of our recent success.
Once again, the front three should stay the same as it did against Leicester City. I know predicting an unchanged XI isn’t hard but Raheem Sterling is one of our best players, Riyad Mahrez is on fire and Gabriel Jesus should remain Pep’s go-to man for away games against mid-table or relegation opposition.
Substitutes: Claudio Bravo, Angeliño, Phil Foden, Joao Cancelo, Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva, Sergio Aguero.
