A Stumbling Block -Transfer Round-Up (26/06/19)
Good evening City Fans, quite a bit of news to get through covering City Transfers today!
Entailed in today's roundup, is more checkups
of the recent transfer stories of Joao Cancelo, Maguire and Angelino. News of
some outgoings of City youth players and some periferary team players. The
typical Sané back and forth and some genuine new stories of David Silva and
even a possible centre back target Mario Hermosa as well. With all that and
some more names thrown in between, we have it all covered below! Let's get into
it, shall we?
One Must Go For Another To Come
Joao Cancelo is a name that should be worn out
among City households, as the constant updates upon how packed his bags are
continues. Today we get more of a deeper insight once again as reports suggest
that Juventus have set their 30th of June deadline. However of course with City
involved it will never be as easy as that. Negotiations are said to have hit a
bump as City need to sell Danilo before moving any further with the deal for
the talented Porguese right back.
Maguire In Limbo
Another update to transfer saga which doesn't seem close to conclusion is everyone's favourite transfer target of the window, Harry Maguire. Todays update comes from Graeme Bailey who says the Englishman is said to have previously told friends he wants to move to City, however United and the Foxes themselves are in the way of this dream move. Leicester are holding out for a fee closer to Virgil Van Dijk's £75 million move. City are still negotiating to try lower that fee as well as battle it out for his signature with United. United are apparently willing to pay a higher wage and transfer fee, although the 25 year old wants to move to the blue half of Manchester rather than the red. In order to do so he will have to force himself that move and get Leicester to lower the price they are demanding.
An Angel In Blue
The last snippets of possible incommings today are of Angelino, the former City left back. According to Angelino’s Supervisors, they are 100% sure he will rejoin the Sky Blues, with a possible conclusion to this transfer coming in the next week.
Rodri Now A When Not If
Finally, Rodri of Atletico is still very close to his move to City but in order to pay Atletico in a manner that suits City’s financial team, He is to cost £75 to £80 Million rather than the £70 million release clause. This is due to the splitting up of payments for the young Spaniard to allow for a better balancing of the books according to OndaCero.
Making room for the new Furniture.
Aro Muric’s club for next season is still in contemplation as he weighs up his options between Preston and Nottingham Forest according to Alan Nixon. Although these clubs are not the only two interested he has yet to decide where he will play. All we know is that he is very likely to be loaned out in order to gain more game time over the next year.
The Octopus In Transfer Discussions
The final bits of outgoings concern the Turkish league as Fenerbahce are said to be interested in the work permit limbo resident Douglas Luiz. Besiktas are looking into the possibility of signing Mangala as scout reports came back positive from their talent reviews, and lastly, a reminiscent memory for City fans will be hearing that the Octopus himself, Fernando according to FotoMac has spoken to Delph about possibly moving to Galatasaray. He is said to have spoken with the Englishman in order to persuade him to move to Turkey to get more game time.
A Silva Engraved In Gold
The first is big news of David Silva’s recent comments with The Mirror that next season will be his last for City. The possibility of losing such a legend and hero of the club will be hard to get used to however as the Magician grows older, (and grows his wonderful hair back) it seems he will soon be departing us after next year. He told reporters “Ten years is enough for me”. I think all fans will be hard of hearing when told this but in reality the tenure he has had at City so far as cemented him in the hall of fame of not only Manchester City but also the Premier League. Here’s to a great ending of another legends career with more trophies next season.
Bayern Looking At Other Options
Another of City’s current players, Leroy Sané has also been involved in reports today due to contrasting claims that he will go and he will stay, this time in BILD. Even with more players coming out to speak upon the German starlets future, as Kroos states “I don't think he will go”, Other reports suggest Bayern are confident of securing his signature by offering £13 million a year compared to £11 million which City have offered along with agreeing a fee with Man City for the winger. Either way he is said to make up his mind after his holiday as many footballers seem to do nowadays. In stark contrast to that entire report however is the news that Bayern have actually ended their pursuit of the 23 year old and have instead turned their attention to Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele. Make of those two very different suggestions as you will blues.
The Final Pieces of the Puzzle
Lastly today we have new reports of a central defender which City are interested in should they decide to not push ahead for the Maguire deal and not find a common ground for Leicester valuation. Along with a possible alternative to Joao Felix in the form of Gremio and Brazil star Forward Everton.
From the ever reliable DuncanCastles, news came out that should City decide against signing Maguire or even fail to get an agreement with Leicester as United are sniffing about, City will turn to alternatives and one of which is said to be Spanish international, and Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso. The quick and malleable left footed centre back is said to be a target for Txiki this summer as frustrations grown upon the deal for Maguire. The 24 year old would just over half the price with a £40 million release clause in his current contract. His eye catching displays have seen interest from many top clubs most notably, Atletico Madrid. Atletico are in search of a Diego Godin replacement and such has signeled Hermoso to be their top target, with Nicolas Otamendi a close second.
Another Brazilian On City's Radar
Last but not least, after his recent impressive performances during the Copa America Evérton of Brazilian Leagues Grêmio is favourite to sign for Manchester City according to Nico Schira. The 23 year old has scored 2 goals and registered 1 assist already from one start and two substitute appearances in the competition. From this and his stellar form in the Brazilian league he has been offered to Napoli. However City are said to have offered £40 million plus bonuses for the young Brazilian in a bid to beat Napoli to his signature. Whether or not this is to be considered seriously is yet to be seen as the home grown quota and international places left in this City squad are limited without letting go of other players in the current side.
