Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho has missed training on Sunday through injury, further raising doubts over the likelihood of the England international playing any part in Tuesday night's crunch Champions League clash against Manchester City.
The former Manchester City academy graduate had been drawn against his former club in the quarter-final stage of Europe's premier competition, and the opportunity to prove any doubters he had at the club upon his departure would've undoubtedly been an exciting prospect.
However, as per the latest reporting from Manchester City correspondent for the Athletic Sam Lee, Jadon Sancho is now 'likely' to miss Borussia Dortmund’s fixture against Pep Guardiola's side on Tuesday.
It has been reported on Sunday afternoon that after being deemed unavailable due to injury since the start of March, the 20 year-old did not train on Sunday in the run-up to the crunch clash scheduled to be played at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, the player who had formed a remarkable partnership with the in-form Erling Haaland over the past 12 months is now expected to be unable to face some of his former teammates at Manchester City.
On a slightly different note, Jadon Sancho is still firmly in the minds of many at Manchester City according to various reports.
There is a feeling that the sell-on clause that was embedded into the Englishman's contract when he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2017 could now be waived by Manchester City, as a form of 'bargaining chip' when attempting to sign Erling Haaland this summer.
Sancho currently represents a transfer value in the region of £100 million, and so the 15% sell-on clause could be worth upwards of £15 million.
