Leroy Sane, during a conversation with German media outlet Spiegel, has opened up on his relationship with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola during his time with the club.

The now Bayern Munich winger enjoyed an illustrious spell at the Etihad Stadium, following his move to the club from Schalke in the summer of 2016. Winning two Premier League titles, and three League Cups, along with an FA Cup in the process, the German international firmly established himself as an integral part of the way Guardiola set up his team to play.

Moving to Bayern in the summer of 2020 was ultimately a dream move for the 25-year-old, who despite a relatively slow start to life in the Bundesliga, has impressed many on the odd occasion and looks to be heading towards the title of being a star at the Allianz Arena.

Speaking to Spiegel, as per comments relayed on social media, Leroy Sane said, "He [Pep] doesn't stop when he sees that you've improved. He'll find something new to work on with you tirelessly. If I hadn't moved to Manchester, I probably wouldn't have reached that level."

He continued and touched on what it was like living in the same building as his manager, and a couple other of his Manchester City teammates, including Ilkay Gundogan.

Sane said, "Pep and I had a good relationship. I saw Pep's family in [my] building more often than Pep. He wasn't standing at the window waiting for us to come home in the evening to check on us! I thought it was great to live so close to my colleagues. A good neighbourhood."

He continued to glow praise on his former coach, continuing; "He raised me to a new level. Working on little things: with which foot do I take the ball in which situation and how? The best action to open space? He did it every day until I have a little man in my ear with his voice that told me what to do."

Many Manchester City supporters have reacted in their numbers to the quotes relayed by City Xtra on Twitter on Thursday evening, with several calls for the Munich winger to make a return to the Etihad.
