Lee Mason will take charge of on-the-field matters when Manchester City take on their third consecutive Premier League clash in two weeks, with a trip to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Tuesday 21st January.
Manchester City will be looking to bounce back from the catastrophic late own goal that resulted in a 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon. That result comes after Pep Guardiola's side had put together a very encouraging run of form, however the Blues will now be looking to rebuild their confidence, and not for the first time this season.
Lee Mason (48) will be the man in the middle in Sheffield on Tuesday night, supported by Nick Hopton and Simon Long as assistant referees. Touchline matters have been affiliated to Peter Bankes.
Mason will be taking charge of his 28th match involving Manchester City, since his first appearance in a game involving the blues in January 2007. The Bolton-born match official’s most recent game involving the champions was the 4-1 victory against Port Vale in the FA Cup third round earlier this month.
As for the Video Assistant Referees, they will be manned by Andrew Madley (VAR) and Darren Cann (Assistant VAR).
Match referee Mason will take charge of his 11th Premier League fixture of the season when Manchester City travel to Sheffield. So far, Mason has handed out 35 yellow cards in his previous 10 matches, awarding one penalty and dismissing one player.
