Martin Atkinson will take charge of on-the-field matters when Manchester City return to action following the six day Christmas break in the Premier League, against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Friday 27th December.
Manchester City will be looking maintain the pressure on Leicester City and Liverpool in the Premier League, with the Champions sitting just one point behind the Foxes prior to the Boxing Day schedule. Last time out, Pep Guardiola's side comfortably dispatched of Brendan Rodgers' men, with a 3-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Martin Atkinson (48) will be the man in the middle in Wolverhampton on Friday 27th, supported by Lee Betts and Constantine Hatzidakis as assistant referees. Touchline matters have been affiliated to Andre Marriner.
Atkinson will be taking charge of his 50th match involving Manchester City, since his first appearance in a game involving the blues in 2004. The experienced match official last officiated a game involving the champions at the end of November – the narrow 2-1 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
As for the Video Assistant Referees, they will be manned by David Coote (VAR) and Andy Halliday (Assistant VAR).
Match referee Atkinson will take charge of his 17th Premier League fixture of the season when Manchester City take on Wolverhampton Wanderers. So far, Atkinson has handed out 51 yellow cards in his previous 16 matches, sending off two players and awarding four penalties in the process.
