Vincent Kompany hasn't had the dream start to his Anderlecht return that he had hoped for, but one shining light has been youngster Albert Sambi Lokonga who dreams of a move to his managers former club, as relayed by Sport Witness.
Lokonga had offers to join Manchester United and Liverpool's academies in the early parts of his career , but turned them down. He opted to join Anderlecht instead and has hopes and aspirations of joining the blue side of Manchester in the future.
The Belgian had his breakthrough season last year and gained a regular spot in the starting XI at defensive midfielder. Unfortunately though, his season was cut short by injury and is now focussed on regaining a spot in the team.
His deal at Anderlecht runs out in 2020 but is confident that his new deal with the club can be agreed:
“We are very close to an agreement for several seasons. If the club offers me an agreement that suits my value, then it will go quickly. It will be fine anyway,”
He will need to play regularly for Pep Guardiola and co to recognise him, but i'm sure our old captain will keep us well informed of his progress.
