Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia has spoken up about his future while on international duty with Spain.
Eric Garcia featured in Luis Enrique’s starting eleven on Sunday, along with Manchester City winger Ferran Torres, in Spain’s 2-1 win over Georgia.
While Garcia appears to be a future star in defence for La Roja, his once bright future at the Etihad Stadium appears to be coming to an end.
The young defender turned down a contract extension from the Premier League club late last season, reportedly to join his boyhood club Barcelona upon the expiry of his current deal - which is set to end in just a few months time.
As per comments relayed by Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the 20 year-old claimed he is only focused on the here and now, and will wait to see what the future brings - speaking after the international clash with Georgia.
"I'm focused on what concerns me, now with the national team there is a very important match against Kosovo coming up, and then what comes will come. I don't know if it will be Barça", said Garcia.
The Spaniard has made only four Premier League appearances this season for Pep Guardiola, who himself is a great admirer of Garcia.
"He's going to play in Barcelona and that is not an average player - he is a top player", said the Manchester City boss earlier this season.
