Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake was missing from the latest footage released by the official club channels on Monday evening, although is believed to be partaking in individual training as he continues his recovery from a muscular injury.

The Dutch defender has not registered a single minute of first-team action since late December, after battling with the relevant recovery processes.

The rest of the squad have been gearing up for the first-leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Borussia Monchengladbach - which was relocated to the Puskas Arena in Budapest due to Covid-19 restrictions in Germany preventing foreign travel.

Although Pep Guardiola revealed last week that Nathan Ake was edging closer to a recovery via individual training, the former Bournemouth defender was not spotted in first-team training on Monday with the rest of the squad.

In other team news, and despite not warming-up or featuring in any of the previous three fixtures, Sergio Aguero appeared to train as normal on Monday, partaking in on-the-ball work.

Questions have been raised in regards to the status of the Argentine forward, however he appears to be edging towards full fitness and could play some part in Wednesday night's fixture.

Speaking on Aguero after the 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, Pep Guardiola said, "I'm looking forward to putting him in the side. We cannot forget he was a long time injured. You get rhythm when you play. As soon as I can, I'll do it. I want to say, 'Keep working hard, your time will come'. I want to be sure."

Players spotted in training footage:

Scott Carson, Zack Steffen, Ederson.

Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia, Luke Mbete, Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy, Alpha Dionkou, Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Oleksandr Zinchenko, John Stones.

Phil Foden, Adrian Bernabe, Rodrigo, Tommy Doyle, Cole Palmer, Claudio Gomes, Felix Nmecha, James McAtee, Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, Bernardo Silva.

Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, Liam Delap, Ferran Torres, Riyad Mahrez.

Note: Not all players who participated in the previous game are always captured in training footage from the immediate session that followed. No concerns surrounding the notable absentees from the list above.
