Ruben Neves, Marten de Roon and Jack Grealish are thought to be the top summer targets for Manchester City in midfield, according to Dean Jones of Bleacher Report.
Atalanta’s Marten de Roon most likely impressed Guardiola during their encounters in the group stage of the Champions League; where his side lost 5-1 at the Etihad but held a 10 man City to a 1-1 draw at the San Siro.
City are content with how things are shaping up for the future, but they also feel that an extra player could prove useful. Aside from the departure of David Silva in the summer, almost all the midfielders in the squad are safe from being axed.
The exception to this Ilkay Gundogan, who has often failed to provide adequate creativity and threat during his time in Manchester. A 'decision' is expected to be made on him at the end of the season, which could potentially see a new face brought in to replace him.
