Manchester City have been handed a major injury boost as club captain David Silva has returned to training with the rest of the squad, prior to the third game within the space of six days.
Silva has been out injured with what Pep Guardiola described as 'a kick in the dangerous part of the knee', in the 2-1 loss against Manchester United. His return to fitness will be a huge boost to the Catalan boss as he looks to juggle his squad with the demanding winter schedule.
The photo, posted by Manchester City on Twitter shows the Spanish midfielder partaking in training with the rest of the squad ahead of the New Years Day clash against Everton at the Etihad Stadium. Whether he will be fit enough to play any part in the fixture is yet to be seen.
The Spaniard revealed earlier this year that the current campaign will be his last with the club. In his ten years of service, 'El Mago' has won four Premier League title, two FA Cup trophies and four League Cups.
