Manchester City are interested in PSV Eindhoven attacking midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren, according to ESPN.

Ihattaren, 17, has firmly established himself as a regular first-team member of the PSV Eindhoven squad this season, despite his age. The Utrecht-born attacking midfielder has had a quite remarkable start to his footballing career, since he made his debut for PSV as a 16-year-old in January 2019.

According to ESPN, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has identified the teenager as a 'long-termsuccessor' to David Silva - who is set to leave the club at the end of the current campaign. Guardiola is reportedly 'desperate to integrate a wave of youngsters into his City lineup' as he prepares to replace several of his current ageing squad.

Earlier this month, Mohamed Ihattaren became PSV's youngest ever European goalscorer - scoring the equalising goal in his side's 1-1 Europa League draw against Rosenborg, aged just 17 years and 304 days old. His goal contribution for a teenager this campaign is equally as impressive - scoring nine goals and providing nine assists in 26 appearances.
