Man City 'interested' in Italian teenage sensation - club scouts sent to monitor player
Manchester City have concrete interest in Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, and will send a scout to the Italian side's upcoming clash against AS Roma on Sunday afternoon, according to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira.
The 19-year-old Italian midfielder has had a meteoric rise to fame in recent months, quickly becoming one of the most promising and sought after midfielders in football. As a result, it is never a surprise to see Manchester City's name thrown into the hat for a player regarded so highly by so many clubs. According to Nico Schira however, it does appear there is some weight to City's interest.
Manchester City are claimed to be looking at securing the signature of the teenager for the 2019/20 season. This interest in the youngster comes around a month after it was confirmed by Brescia president, Massimo Cellino, that Manchester City were in fact one of the potential suitors for the midfielder.
In addition to the interest in taking on board the teenager next summer, Manchester City's monitoring of the prospect continues, with scouts from the Premier League champions attending Sunday afternoon's clash between AS Roma and Brescia - a fixture in which Sandro Tonali will undoubtedly feature.
So far this season, Sandro Tonali has made 11 appearances for Brescia, scoring one goal and providing two assists in that time. The 19-year-old wondered has recently become a regular part of Roberto Mancini's Italy side, featuring in the Azzurri's last three games - with the last two being full 90 minute performances.
