According to a report on Wednesday morning, it is claimed that Manchester City's interest in their former academy product was 'rather unexpected' for Manchester United.
As expected given the youngster's remarkable rise in the Bundesliga, Sport Witness states any approach for the Englishman would come at a very heavy financial cost, with Sancho set to cost in excess of €100 million.
To many Manchester City fans, it remains highly unlikely that the club would make a serious move for Sancho, or would the player even show an interest in returning to the Etihad Stadium, given the manner in which he left. However, with the possible departure of Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich in coming transfer windows, it does open up the opportunity for the arrival of a winger.
Since joining Dortmund, Sancho has racked up an astonishing 18 goals and 30 assists for the Bundesliga side, and the two Manchester clubs are just a few of several European super clubs showing an interest in his signature.
