Pep Guardiola has confirmed in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Atalanta on Tuesday night, that both Nicolas Otamendi and Kyle Walker are 'getting better' after training on Sunday afternoon.
After their absence from the 0-2 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, both Nicolas Otamendi and Kyle Walker's conditions have improved according to Pep Guardiola on Monday.
With the absence of the two defenders, Guardiola was forced enforce the use of two defensive midfielders in defence against Roy Hodgson's side. Despite the partnership proving to be relatively successful in the Premier League clash, Guardiola will be looking to employ Rodri in his usual defensive midfield slot against Atalanta on Tuesday, and will be buoyed by the return of Otamendi and Walker.
With the improvement of the Argentine and English defenders, Manchester City's apparent injury 'crisis' appears to have lessened in severity significantly, with the return of John Stones, Kevin De Bruyne and Benjamin Mendy on Saturday. Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sané are still ruled out with their long-term problems.
