Manchester City winger Leroy Sane is expected to stay at the Etihad Stadium beyond the January transfer window, despite heavy interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, according to the Daily Star.
Leroy Sane has been at the centre of months of reports and speculation linking the 23-year-old with a big money move to the Allianz Arena. However, following severe damage to his anterior cruciate ligament in August, any potential deal has been put on hold until the January transfer window at the very earliest.
According to the Daily Star, Pep Guardiola has 'won the battle' to retain the services of the Germany international until the end of the 2019/20 campaign. However, Sané is still expected to make the move to Bayern Munich in the summer in a deal worth around £85 million.
Since joining Manchester City in 2016, Leroy Sané has become one of the most exciting young wingers in European football. The 23-year-old has provided 84 goal contributions in 134 appearances for Pep Guardiola (39 Goals - 45 Assists), as well as being recognised as the PFA Young Player of the Year in 2018.
