Benjamin Mendy will start a third consecutive match for Manchester City for just the fourth time in three seasons at the club, when he steps out on to the field against Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
The French international has been hampered by injuries since joining Manchester City from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017. Pep Guardiola has been forced to adapt and mould players into his position, resulting in the rise of Oleksandr Zinchenko and the purchase of Angeliño this summer.
According to StatCity, this is just the fourth time the full-back has managed a consecutive trio of appearances since completing his £52 million move, and Pep Guardiola will certainly be hoping this run extends for a prolonged succession of games, with injuries mounting up for the Premier League champions in the defensive department.
