Manchester City informed Sergio Aguero about his contract earlier than expected to give him more time to sort out a new club, claims the Manchester Evening News' Simon Bajkowski.
It is apparent that the club did not want the situation to turn into a saga, and the hope in acting during the international break is that it can eliminate any uncertainty during the most crucial phase of the current season.
The club did not want to situation surrounding their striker to drag on, and with the cutting out of the former, Manchester City have now given license to their squad and staff to fully focus on the run in to an unprecedented quadruple - which is on the minds of many fans at present.
Now that the Argentine has been informed about his future he can begin to look for a new club.
According to ESPN's Mark Ogden, the 32 year-old is considering interest from Juventus, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Ogden reaffirms the information oout of ESPN's sources, who state that although Aguero is aware of interest from within the Premier League, the player would prefer to move to Europe after 10 years at the Etihad Stadium.
However, Sky Italia's Matteo Moretto disclosed that Sergio Aguero is 'crazy' about signing for Lionel Messi's Barcelona - although there is nothing closed.
The La Liga club appear to have other priorities at present, and according to Moretto, would prefer a much younger striker. Currently, there is no economic agreement between the two parties and the La Liga side are offering less than what Sergio Aguero is reportedly asking for in terms of a pay package.
