Following uncertainty surrounding the penalty takers at Manchester City throughout this season, there is now a feeling that the next penalty to Pep Guardiola's side will be taken by goalkeeper Ederson, according to reliable sources.
Manchester City most recently missed from the penalty spot away at Anfield in the 4-1 victory over Jurgen Klopp's side, and despite scoring their next penalty via Rodrigo against Tottenham, the kick itself was noted to be very unconvincing.
Pep Guardiola himself also admitted after the 3-0 victory over Tottenham that Rodrigo was not set to take the penalty in the match, however the leadership and responsibility undertaken by the Spaniard was admired by many.
According to those close to Ederson, there is now an understanding that the Brazilian goalkeeper will step up to take Manchester City's next penalty, as relayed by Edgar_mcfc on Twitter - who is known to be reliable when it comes to information surrounding the South American contingent at the Etihad Stadium.
Whether or not we actually see this come to fruition is a completely different matter, although there is almost certainly a feeling that the situation of a game will decide whether Ederson does get the opportunity to step up.
