Rodri is a blue!

At last, the one we’ve all been waiting for – Rodrigo Hernandez is now officially a Manchester City player!

The Spanish International joins from Atletico Madrid for a fee of £62.5 million on a 5 year deal with the Citizens. Rodri will be wearing the number 16 shirt for City ahead of the 2019/20 season.

Rodri was announced alongside Man City’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain today with Rodri saying:

‘What City have achieved in the last two years has been amazing and I’m looking forward to being part of such a talented squad. It’s not just the titles they have won, but the way they have managed it, playing attacking football at all times.'

'It’s a style that excites me, as do the Club’s ambitions. I can’t wait to start working with Pep (Guardiola) and my new team-mates, hopefully we can achieve great things together’

Txiki has also spoke about the Rodri transfer at the announcement saying:

‘Rodri has proven himself to be a hugely talented, young midfielder, who has all the attributes we are looking for. He works hard defensively, makes himself available to receive the ball and uses it well when in possession, He is a perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s team and we are confident he will be a success’

Pep talk for the Old Lady...

According to Italian football outlet Corriere dello Sport it is reported that Pep Guardiola has called Juventus personally to enquire about the availability of their centre back Leonard Bonucci, with the probable arrival of De Ligt it would limit Bonucci’s first team opportunities.

Corriere dello Sport added that a figure of £40m has been quoted to Pep to secure Bonucci’s services.

Bayern join the hunt for ANOTHER City target..

It appears that Bayern are now in the hunt for another City target, Joao Cancelo. Reports via Corriere dello Sport even indicate that Bayern are the front runner for the Portuguese international.

Corriere dello Sport suggest that City have hit a stumbling block as no move can be made until Danilo moves on which by then it may be too late to secure the services of Cancelo.

The report says that Juventus are getting frustrated with the lack of progress made in the past few days with City and have now reopened talks with other clubs.

Football Italia have reported that Spanish champions F.C Barcelona are also interested in Cancelo as their right back, Nelson Semedo, is heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

Sky Sports UK have had their say on this story all be it a very contradictory one, they have reported today that City will move for Cancelo regardless of the Danilo situation. However Sky Sports UK then stated not long after that City need to offload Danilo before moving for Cancelo, make of that report what you wish.

Cherry on top of the cake...

French media out L’equipe have reported for a second successive day that Bournemouth and Dutch centre back, Nathan Ake is ‘likely to join Man City’ this summer. The report suggest that the fee to secure his services would be in the region of £40m.

L’equipe suggest it would be a two horse race for the Dutch international between City and long term admirers Tottenham Hotspur.

Sane, Everton and Bayern…

According to TZ, Bayern are beginning to look at a plan B if they cannot capture the signing of Leroy Sane. Gremio and Brazil International, Everton, is identified by Bayern chiefs along with Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

It was only a couple of days ago that City were linked with a move for Everton however Everton’s agent did quash the rumours quickly, it appears it may be another interesting battle ahead between City and Bayern in the transfer market.

Maguire update..

The Daily Mail and The Sun have reported throughout the day of Leicester City enquiring about Brighton & Hove Albion centre back Lewis Dunk and also Burnley’s James Tarkowski.

Brighton initially quoted Leicester £40 million for Lewis Dunk and it seems that Burnley value Tarkowski in the same price bracket as they have also quoted him at the same price point.

It appears to be a battle between the two Manchester clubs for Maguire’s signature however United are the only club out of the two to have lodged an official bid with the Foxes.

Turkish Delight…

Goal reported that Fabian Delph has ‘already cleared his locker at City’ as his first team opportunities appear to be more limited than ever following on from yesterday’s signing of Angelino and current left back options in Mendy and Zinchenko.

Askam via Sports Witness has suggested that Turkish outfit Galatasaray have pin pointed Delph as their number one target in this window, Galatasaray are said to seem him as a like for like replacement for former City man Fernando who is linked with a move to Sevilla.

Delph has one eye on next years EURO 2020 competition and a move to Galatasaray would make more sense in staking a claim with more first team opportunities.

Douglas Luiz in loan move..

It looks like another season on loan for Douglas Luiz as that the Brazilian won’t be getting a work permit this summer.

According to Fotospor. Fenerbache are set to take Luiz on loan for the whole 2019/20 season.

City youngster goes out on loan…

City’s January signing Ante Palaversa has joined Belgian Pro League outfit KV Oostende which was earlier announced via the clubs twitter account.
