As doubts over Sergio Aguero’s Manchester City future have become a major talking point among those associated with the club, the Argentina National Team coach has voiced his confirmation of those same doubts.

As Argentina look forward to matches against Uruguay and Brazil at the end of March, head coach Lionel Scaloni spoke out about his concerns over the 32 year-old’s fitness.

In quotes from TyC Sports and translated by Sport Witness on Tuesday afternoon, Scaloni had this to say:

“Hopefully he [Sergio Aguero] can pick up the pace. In the next week, we’ll decide the final list. He’s always under consideration, but he has to be in the best condition and we know that he’ll not reach 100%.”

Aguero has suffered from reoccurring niggling muscle injuries for most of this season, and only recently worked his way back into the match-day squad for Pep Guardiola.

Not only are his future national team prospects in doubt, but the Argentine has yet to receive an offer over a contract extension from Manchester City. The club has reportedly told the striker that he needs to prove he can regain, and keep his form and fitness before they consider extending his future at the club.
