No club is 'close' to signing Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland at this moment in time, with the Norwegian's future to be decided in the summer. However, Fabrizio Romano has said there's a 'huge chance' he decides to leave.
This latest news follows earlier reports that the bidding war over the striker is soon to commence. Sport BILD, as relayed by Sport Witness, have revealed the shortlist of clubs that the Norwegian could see himself joining.
It's been revealed that the 20-year-old superstar can only see himself joining six clubs: Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus. The Norwegian has a release clause of €100M, but it will only come in 2022. For now, he is valued at €110M.
And while Chelsea have also had links to Haaland, the London club have ‘little chance of signing’ the striker, according to the same report. Haaland does not want to take an intermediate step and instead wants to join ‘an absolute top club’ - Chelsea do not fit into this category.
With Sergio Agüero seemingly on his way out, the Manchester City hierarchy have made signing a top class striker their number one priority and reports suggest that the Dortmund star is number one on the shortlist for the Premier League leaders.
It is also worth mentioning that recent reports have stated that the Etihad club will continue to pursue a top class striker even if they sign Lionel Messi in the summer.
