Scott Carson, who is currently on-loan at Manchester City on loan from Derby County, is at the club until the end of the season. But the Blues intend to negotiate a new deal with their third-choice goalkeeper.
According to the reports by Sky Sports, City want to offer an eight-month contract to the player. They are looking at a plausible cancellation of their current deal with Derby County before extending their offer to Carson.
Although the club appear to be 'relaxed' about the entire situation, previous reports suggested that they were 'angered' when the Championship side blocked their initial attempts to sign a permanent deal with the goalkeeper.
The latter are due to receive £500,000 in the second instalment of the loan and want to use that money in order to pay their player wages. City have until the end of this month to complete the payment before they can negotiate a deal directly with Carson.
Scott Carson was also left 'aggrieved' when his parent side blocked his permanent move to City. Pep Guardiola wants to keep the player and sees him as a 'captain in the locker-room'. Comparing him to the likes of Fernandinho, Guardiola insisted that he wants Carson to extend his stay at the club.
