As per reports from French news outlet Le Parisien, Manchester City’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe still remains, although rumours of a move have certainly quietened in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old is currently tied down to a contract in Paris until 2022, and has yet to make a decision about his future.
Manchester City, along with other top European clubs, are said to be monitoring the situation and could be ‘ready to break the bank’ if the situation arrives, according to the translated claims provided by Sport Witness.
Mbappe, along with fellow Manchester City transfer target Erling Haaland, has launched himself to the top of the list regarding Europe’s top talents.
His tally of 120 goals in 160 games for PSG has secured a reported price tag of somewhere between €120 million and €150 million in order to pry him away from the Parc des Princes.
According to Le Parisien, Mbappe will consider a number of factors in deciding where to make his next move, including the squad of the club that wants to sign him, strength and weakness of their league, the leaders of the club, as well as ‘their communication and political weight.’
Manchester City have yet to set make any formal bid for a Sergio Aguero replacement, and with the staggering numbers that Mbappe has put up in recent years in terms of goal productivity, he could sky-rocket to the top of the Blues' shopping list.
