Manchester City reportedly like Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar ‘a lot’ - with the club having already made previous attempts to sign the centre-back, according to Calciomercato as relayed by Sport Witness.

With the injury to Aymeric Laporte causing never ending defensive issues at the heart of City’s defence this season; it will come as no surprise to anyone that the club are looking for reinforcements.

Reports from England have mentioned a potential exchange deal which would send Joao Cancelo to the San Siro. It's said that Antonio Conte’s side would be eager to add the right-back to their ranks but there is ‘no real exchange proposal’ on the table.

City paid around €55-60m in the summer, but Inter believe his value to have depreciated considerably since then. This would rule out a payment of €20-25m plus Cancelo for Skriniar as they value their defender ‘much more’ than that.

Whilst there are no ongoing negotiations between the clubs, their differing assessments of both Cancelo and Skriniar’s value would be an obstacle for any potential swap deal.
