Manchester City are believed to be interested in former academy youngster and current Juventus midfield player – Adrien Rabiot, with the Italian side willing to cut ties with the Frenchman.
According to a report in Sport Witness, relaying information from Calciomercato, the 25-year-old French footballer, who left the City Football Academy in 2008 after playing there for a few months, is touted to return to Manchester if the Italian side receives the ‘right offer‘.
Rabiot is believed to be in Pep Guardiola’s ‘list of goals for Manchester City‘ and the Blues have begun to monitor his situation at Juventus.
Pep Guardiola will want to bring in a midfielder to replace the now more seemingly outgoing club captain, Fernandinho.
Andrea Pirlo’s Juventus are looking to bring in a few changes in the midfield, but need to gather funds before they can pursue their targets.
Rabiot who has been a regular figure in Pirlo’s squad has started 17 games out of the 23 in Serie A this season and will only be sold if the Italian side receive a satisfactory offer. The Frenchman who has also regained his position in Didier Deschamps’s French national team is currently on a €7 million per year contract at the Old Lady.
That said, an exact number or figure of the ‘right offer’ has not been mentioned yet, but executives in Manchester have started following the development of Rabiot’s situation very closely.
With Manchester City believed to be in for a midfielder in the upcoming transfer market and Rabiot’s situation at Juventus, this scenario may ultimately prove to be ideal should the hierarchy at Etihad decides to make a move.
